We live in a strange time. Many businesses have been forced to slow down, entrepreneurs and employees have to stay home, and we spend a lot of our time waiting and wondering. Wondering what will happen to us and our businesses, and wondering when, and if, life will get back to normal.
Hard times for many people, but also times with some great opportunities.
With businesses taking a break, you probably have some more time off than normal. And instead of spending this time waiting and wondering, why not use it for something you've always wanted to do, but never had the time for? Like educating yourself, for instance?
Especially in difficult times, having a strong marketing plan is essential. And therefore, gaining knowledge in this field, can help you a lot in the long term.
In this blog, we will list a few of our favorite marketing courses and learning platforms. Some free, some for a small fee, but all worth a little bit of time. Your future self (and business) will thank you.
We love Hootsuite. This company has become extremely successful in marketing in general, and content marketing specifically. They managed to offer (mostly) free courses on almost every marketing-related topic you can imagine. And that is pretty impressive.
Most courses take between 1 and 5 hours to complete, and are extremely easy to follow and clearly explained. The costs for most of the courses is between $99 to $200.
Do you have a little bit more to spend, then Udemy is a great way to find the courses you are looking for.
Udemy allows educators to upload courses on absolutely everything. Most courses cost between $ 10 and $ 30 and show a clear ranking and many reviews. This makes it easy to see which courses have been doing well and should be of good quality.
Compared to Hubspot's free courses, some of the Udemy courses take a bit longer to complete. There are, for instance, courses that take around 30 or 40 hours.
Most courses come with video and reading material that can be downloaded and saved for later.
Another platform full of high-quality marketing courses is Coursera. Coursera is in many ways similar to Udemy, with one main difference. While Udemy is open to everyone, Coursera only allows professionals from universities and educational institutions to add their courses to the platform. This results in more consistency in the quality of the courses, compared to Udemy. The platform contains short programs, specializations, and even full master programs.
Prices vary per course, depending on length and type of program.
Last but definitely not least: The Social Media Guide Community.
